The Chiclana City Council has announced the Fiesta de la Parpuja, scheduled for September 11th starting at 9:00 PM in the Plaza Mayor. Mayor José María Román, accompanied by the delegate for Economic Development, Manuela Pérez, and several local artists, presented the event.
This year's festival pays tribute to the singer Paco Cepero. The artistic lineup includes performances by Duquende, Granaino, Remedios Reyes, and José Galvín on vocals. Antonio de Patrocinio, Julio Romero, and Rafael Gallo will play the guitar, while María Tavora and her troupe will present the dance. Juan Ramón Reyes will be the guest solo guitarist. The event will be presented by Juan Garrido.
Mayor José María Román highlighted the positive reception of the current festival format in the Plaza Mayor and emphasized the tribute to Paco Cepero, who has strong ties to Chiclana and the Reyes family. Román also noted the flourishing state of flamenco in the town.
Ramón Reyes, speaking on behalf of the artists, thanked the City Council for its commitment to flamenco and for organizing the event, stating that the lineup offers variety for all tastes.
Remedios Reyes expressed her pride in participating in the festival in her hometown, describing it as a high-caliber event.
José Galvín felt privileged and fortunate to be part of the lineup for a festival with such a rich history and thanked the City Council and organizers for including him.
Juan Ramón Reyes, who studies guitar in Jerez, described performing at the Fiesta de la Parpuja in his hometown of Chiclana as a dream come true.
