The San Fernando Book Fair has concluded another successful edition, establishing itself as a benchmark cultural and family event in the province thanks to its family-friendly nature, programming, and meticulous decoration.

After four editions held in Plaza del Rey, the San Fernando Book Fair has transformed from a modest event into a literary benchmark, attracting bookstores and consolidating itself as a prominent cultural and family gathering in the island's spring calendar.
The change has been significant, moving from limited programming and budgets to a waiting list of bookstores eager to participate. This transformation is attributed to a firm commitment from the local government, which has invested in the event, relocating it to the city's heart, Plaza del Rey, and theming it to create an immersive experience.
The Councilor for Culture, Pepa Pacheco, explains that the seed of change was planted when it was realized that the previous venue was too small. The current location in Plaza del Rey, a city focal point, has allowed for the development of an open and family-oriented concept, featuring relaxation areas, children's activities, and careful decoration.
The 2025 edition dedicated to Mafalda marked a turning point, transforming the square into a large comic strip and setting a new standard for the event. The recent edition, focused on Sherlock Holmes, has successfully maintained this level, with decorations that transported visitors to Victorian London.
The success is evident in the interest from bookstores and authors to participate, with plans to expand the space in future editions. The opening of new bookstores in the city and the attendance of renowned authors such as Lorenzo Silva and David Trueba highlight the vibrant literary scene in San Fernando.
