The municipal delegate for Culture, Susana Rivas, and the director of the ‘Maestro Enrique Montero’ Municipal Music Band, Manuel Forero, have presented the concert program that the band will offer over four Fridays. The performances will coincide with the musical group's 40th anniversary.
The first concert will take place on July 31st in the Plaza Mayor, while on August 7th, 14th, and 28th, music lovers can enjoy the shows at the Templete de la Música of Alameda del Río. All concerts will start at 9:00 PM and will be free to attend.
The band will perform a varied repertoire including zarzuela, pasodoble, classical and contemporary music, and film soundtracks, among other pieces. Susana Rivas highlighted that these concerts are highly anticipated by the public and that the one on August 14th will be special, coinciding with the anniversary and recognizing the work of those who have been part of the band.
Manuel Forero recalled that the band's official presentation was on August 14th, 1986, 40 years ago, and that the same pieces will be performed on that day as at its debut. The first concert will feature the collaboration of the music band from the Cuenca municipality of El Provencio, who will start and finish the performance alongside the Chiclana band, which is why Plaza Mayor was chosen for its larger capacity.
For the concerts on August 7th and 28th, the Maestro Enrique Montero Municipal Music Band will feature the participation of Ignacio Borrego, director of the Music Unit of the Tercio del Sur.
