The summer cycle, supported by the Chiclana City Council through the Culture Department, will feature local and provincial artists in top-tier flamenco evenings.
The opening session this Saturday at 10:00 PM will showcase singers Manolo Parra and Carmen ‘La Chiclanera’, accompanied on guitar by José Parra.
This year's program emphasizes the promotion of artists from Chiclana and the province of Cádiz. Vocal performances will include Alfonso ‘Niño de Medina’, Pedro López, Carmen ‘la Chiclanera’, Pedro Pacheco, Gory de Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Juanito Berrocal de Medina Sidonia, Isabel Posada, Juan Alba ‘El Primilla’, Juan Pelote, Manuel Ortiz Romero, José Malia, Pedrín García, José Manuel Écijano, Miguel Ángel Lara ‘El Canario’, José Olmo, and Antonia. Guitarists will be Joselito de Pura, Romerito de Sanlúcar, Rafael Pelote, Jesule del Puerto, Víctor Rosa, and Niño de la Escalerilla de Paterna. Dance artistry will be presented by Rocío Rodríguez, Jairo Oliva, and María Jesús ‘La Chica’.
The Delegate for Culture, Susana Rivas, highlighted the extensive career of the Peña Flamenca Chiclanera and its efforts to preserve flamenco as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. She emphasized the entity's pedagogical and outreach work in introducing flamenco styles to both established fans and new audiences, calling the cycle an "essential tourist attraction" that significantly enriches the city's summer cultural and leisure agenda.
The opening session on July 11 will be presented by Pilar Pérez. The organization and the city council formally invite all citizens and visitors to attend and enjoy the region's finest flamenco talent.
