Chiclana closed the month of July with a notable increase in its hotel sector, exceeding 4,200 people employed and consolidating itself as one of the most in-demand and sought-after destinations in the country.

In July, up to 4,227 people were employed in Chiclana's hotels, an increase of 564 workers compared to the same month in 2025, according to data from the Hotel Business Survey published by the National Statistics Institute (INE). This employment growth coincides with the expansion of hotel offerings, which this summer reaches 13,966 beds, 1,498 more than the previous year.
Despite the increase in capacity, average daily prices have remained high, making Chiclana's hotels the third most expensive in Spain, only behind Marbella and San Sebastián. The average daily rate was set at 234.42 euros, according to the Hotel Sector Profitability Indicators also released by the INE.
Hotel demand has also seen strong growth, with 84,729 clients staying in Chiclana during July, 22,983 more than the previous year. Of these, nearly 60,000 were residents of Spain and around 25,000 were from abroad. International tourists, as usual, extended their stays.
In total, 382,174 overnight stays were recorded, almost 30,000 more than in July 2025. Residents of Spain contributed 237,493 overnight stays, while international travelers accounted for 144,681. The increase in national clients was 13,000, and foreign clients rose by nearly 10,000, highlighting a diversification of clientele.
The hotel supply consists of 33 establishments, with 5,524 rooms and the aforementioned 14,000 beds. The occupancy rate per bed stood at a general 83.78 percent, reaching 85.17 percent on weekends, figures slightly lower than those of 2025. The average stay in July was 4.51 days.
In terms of revenue per available room, Chiclana leads the province of Cádiz and ranks second in Andalusia and third in Spain, surpassed only by Marbella and San Sebastián. Revenue per available room in Chiclana was 210.38 euros, well above Tarifa (159.42 euros) and Cádiz (131.81 euros).
