On April 30, the Habitat and Coexistence Board of Eracis+ met in Chiclana to review the progress of the Local Intervention Plan in Disadvantaged Areas (PLIZD) and define upcoming actions. During the meeting, an interim evaluation was presented, revealing that 75.8% of the planned actions, from the start of the Eracis+ program on March 1, 2024, until December 2025, have already been executed or are in process.
This program is part of the Andalusian Regional Strategy for Social Cohesion and Inclusion (ERACIS+), whose main objective is to intervene in vulnerable areas. It seeks to address specific urban environment needs, foster the integration of neighborhoods with the rest of the city, and improve quality of life, coexistence, and citizen security.
Among the actions already implemented, notable ones include the installation of pictograms at pedestrian crossings near educational centers, the organization of neighborhood meetings, the promotion of spaces for active aging, and the establishment of a Wi-Fi zone in Plaza de la Libertad.
For the year 2026, the Habitat and Coexistence Board plans to launch new initiatives. These include a campaign to promote local commerce, the incorporation of pictograms in municipal delegations with public service, environmental education campaigns, and new neighborhood meetings. These measures will be coordinated among the different municipal delegations and participating social entities.
The ERACIS+ project is co-financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund Plus, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality of the Junta de Andalucía and the Chiclana City Council.
