The city of Chiclana will become the Andalusian hub for nature photography on September 5 with the celebration of the VI Workshops organized by AGAFONA and the City Council.

The Gaditan Association of Nature Photographers (AGAFONA), with the support of the Chiclana City Council, has organized the VI Nature and Photography Workshops for Saturday, September 5. This event, now a fixture on the Andalusian calendar, will bring together photography and nature enthusiasts in the city.
The Interpretation Center for Wine and Salt will host a high-level training day. The renowned nature photographer José Benito Ruiz, president of the Spanish Association of Nature Photographers (AEFONA) and an international reference, will lead five masterclasses. These sessions, totaling approximately eight hours, will cover key aspects such as landscape photography, technique and composition, night photography, wildlife photography, and macro photography.
The municipal delegate for Sustainable Tourism, Manuela Pérez, highlighted Chiclana's suitability for hosting this event, emphasizing its natural richness with estuaries, salt flats, and pine forests. Pérez underscored the local government's commitment to initiatives that promote respect for and value of the natural environment, thanking AGAFONA for choosing the city.
For his part, the president of AGAFONA, Pablo Barrena, expressed his gratitude to the Chiclana City Council for their collaboration and the provision of facilities. Barrena noted the association's pride in holding this workshop in Chiclana, which already has 74 registered participants for the 100 available spots.
The program will begin at 8:30 AM with participant reception and official inauguration. The masterclasses will be spread throughout the day, including the awards ceremony for the AGAFONA League before the lunch break. The event will conclude in the afternoon after the final training sessions.
Participation is limited to a maximum of 100 attendees and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendance is free for AGAFONA members, while the fee for other attendees is 20 euros. Registrations can be made via an online form.
