The program, which will run throughout the 2026-2027 school year, is adapted for Primary and Secondary students and its main objective is to introduce young people to the integral water cycle, promote responsible usage habits, and raise awareness about the importance of protecting this vital natural resource.
Aguas de Cádiz has planned two types of activities: in-classroom workshops and educational outings to Parque Genovés. Both proposals aim to address environmental content from a practical perspective, encouraging student participation and learning through experience.
According to initial projections, seven educational centers have already confirmed their participation, involving over 1,200 students in classroom workshops and around 330 schoolchildren in activities at Parque Genovés. These figures are expected to grow as the school year progresses.
The workshops held in schools introduce students to key concepts related to water through sessions that combine explanatory, dynamic, and participatory elements with practical exercises, games, and other age-appropriate activities. This approach helps schoolchildren adopt knowledge and habits for more conscious and responsible water use in their daily lives. The activity at Parque Genovés, meanwhile, allows participants to discover the various uses of water in the city and its connection to green spaces, gardens, and urban maintenance.
The collaboration of educational centers is crucial for the development of this initiative, which aims to make environmental education a tool for promoting good environmental practices from an early age, empowering children not only as recipients of these messages but also as agents of awareness capable of sharing their learning with their families.
With this new edition, Aguas de Cádiz reaffirms its commitment to environmental outreach and youth education, promoting knowledge of the water cycle and shared responsibility in caring for a limited resource. The municipal company thus continues to bring water management closer to citizens through education, participation, and environmental awareness.
