Mayor Emilio Torres highlighted during his speech that the Local Police is a close body and an ally of the citizenry, whose work goes far beyond traffic regulation or security. He emphasized their support for victims of gender-based violence, prevention of school absenteeism, protection in educational centers, assistance to lonely individuals, and intervention in emergency and crime situations.
Torres thanked all officers for their work and underlined the City Council's commitment to reinforcing the force and improving its resources and working conditions.
The event also included the presentation of decorations and awards to officers for their careers and services rendered, as well as to the Civil Guard and two young local residents for their collaboration with the force.
