This initiative goes beyond simple reading promotion, aiming to use literature to analyze women's realities and foster equality from a feminist perspective. The course kicks off with the novel "La gangrena" by Mercedes Salisachs, which will serve as a starting point for sharing impressions, analyzing characters and situations, and generating collective dialogue among participants.
The activity is carried out in collaboration with the Culture Department of the Martos City Council and the Andalusian Center for Letters. It brings together women of different ages and backgrounds, creating a space where literature becomes a pathway to share knowledge, experiences, and different ways of viewing the world. It is a place for meeting and participation where women can express themselves freely, feel heard, and establish connections.
The club addresses literary works from a gender perspective, questioning traditional roles and stereotypes that have conditioned the representation of women and promoting a critical reading of existing inequalities between men and women.

The Equality Councilor, Ana Matilde Expósito Sabariego, highlighted the value of this initiative as part of municipal policies to promote equality. She added that “we want the Municipal Information Center for Women to be a vibrant, approachable space open to all women, a place where they can find information and resources, but also spaces for participation, learning, and meeting.”

The Equality Department encourages all women interested in reading, regardless of their age, to join the “Con Otra Mirada” Club. Interested individuals can obtain information at the Municipal Information Center for Women in Martos.
