The Councilor for CEE and Environment, José María Cano, recalled that the program's objective is "to honor our elders, bring them closer to this center, and enrich ourselves with their life experiences about a world, that of the countryside and gardening, which they know very well".
Over these two months, users from various entities and centers, such as ASPACE, the senior residences 'Condes de Corbull', 'Altos del Jontoya', and 'El Valle Senior', the Municipal Occupational Center for People with Intellectual Disabilities (Municipal Board of Social Affairs), the Virgen de la Capilla Day Center, and the 'Catedral 1' Active Participation Center, have enjoyed days of learning, nature, and coexistence.
Participants shared experiences during visits to the nursery, workshops on 'Winter Garden and Orchard', routes through natural areas like Ojo del Buey, and practical sessions on plant propagation and gardening techniques.
Cano thanked all involved entities and centers, as well as the team of professionals, for their participation and enthusiasm.
The councilor noted that the CEE's Environmental Education area has run activities for schoolchildren for 26 years, involving 4,000 to 6,000 students annually. Now, through 'Seeds of Experience', seniors are given the opportunity to be protagonists, sharing their knowledge while imparting their own.
