The procedure includes ten reserved spaces for this service, located between Fuente del Pinillo and Fuente del Alamillo streets, and will remain open until November 5. The tender budget amounts to 125,840 euros.
The Councilor for Heritage and Environment, José María Cano, stated that "this tender will allow us to advance in the provision of infrastructure for charging electric vehicles in the city, providing new alternatives for users and promoting the development of this type of mobility in Jaén".
The concession will allow for the comprehensive implementation of the station, including its installation, maintenance, and operation, with the aim of having an ultra-fast charging service at this point in the capital. The ten planned spaces will be dedicated to meeting the needs of drivers who use electric vehicles and require accessible charging options in the urban environment.
Cano highlighted that "this action is part of the work carried out by the Heritage department to promote the implementation of charging points in different areas of the city, also addressing requests from residents. In this regard, the City Council continues to process other locations to progressively extend this infrastructure throughout Jaén".
The municipal official also emphasized the importance of moving towards a more sustainable mobility model with realistic planning, which allows for the incorporation of new transport solutions and the improvement of services available to citizens, without losing sight of the coexistence between electric and combustion vehicles during the transition process.
With this tender, the City Council takes another step in the development of the electric charging infrastructure in the city, through a concession that includes the commissioning, conservation, and operation of the facilities. Interested companies can participate in the procedure within the established deadline, which ends on November 5.
