The project, which addresses a community request due to the lack of play equipment in the area, is part of the city's playground maintenance and conservation contract. This initiative includes routine maintenance and repairs of existing facilities, as well as the addition of new elements in various locations across Jaén.
The Councilor for Urban Maintenance, Javier Padorno, highlighted the municipal commitment to creating more accessible and inclusive leisure spaces. The new area in Plaza de San Francisco will feature an adapted play element, ensuring that all children can enjoy these spaces under equal conditions.
Through an agreement between the Jaén City Council and the Provincial Council of Jaén, managed by the provincial company Resurja, the city guarantees not only the upkeep and repair of existing playgrounds but also their renovation by installing new equipment.
Padorno stated that the objective is for the children of Jaén to have adequate spaces for play and leisure in the city's various neighborhoods and areas. The installation of this play zone involves a reorganization of urban furniture, maintaining the same number of benches, redistributed to foster intergenerational encounters, allowing parents and the elderly to continue enjoying the green space.
Parks serve a fundamental social function as meeting points, fostering neighborhood coexistence, and providing spaces for families to spend quality time. This emblematic Plaza de San Francisco will now fulfill this role even more effectively.
