The Councilor for Environment and the Special Employment Center of the Jaén City Council met with Manuel Ruiz and José Luque, representatives of the GEA association in the capital, to establish new lines of collaboration and promote joint actions for the city's environment.
During the meeting, requested by the association, various environmental requests were discussed, prioritizing the design of participatory projects for the coming months. The main initiative will be the launch of "participatory plantings," taking advantage of the autumn season, considered the optimal time for species to take root.
José María Cano indicated that the objective shared by the council and GEA is to invite residents to become directly involved in planting trees in various areas of the capital.
The councilor highlighted the fluid contact and collaboration that the department has maintained with GEA for some time. As examples of this joint work, Manuel Ruiz recalled the success of the holm oak planting carried out last year in the El Neveral area, "whose specimens are already growing favorably," as well as an intervention in the Paseo de la Bicicleta a year and a half ago.
Cano Ayllón thanked the collective for their "involvement and awareness regarding the Environment and especially for the implementation of these participatory planting projects, which aim to raise awareness and reinforce the tree mass in the city."
