This award, approved by the institution's Governing Council, aims to honor individuals or entities who have excelled in activities related to Sierra Nevada and, by extension, to Andalusian nature, as well as in the world of sports.
Ana Alonso Rodríguez, an alumna of the Faculty of Sports Sciences, graduated in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences in July 2018. For several years, she balanced her academic studies with a demanding high-level competitive schedule. Her debut in the Ski Mountaineering World Cup in 2016 marked the beginning of an ascending international career, establishing her as one of Spain's most prominent specialists, particularly in sprint and mixed relay events.
At the recent Milan-Cortina d'Ampezzo 2026 Winter Olympic Games, she secured two bronze medals in the speed and mixed relay events, and was chosen as the flag bearer for the Spanish team at the closing ceremony, reaffirming her position as a benchmark in winter sports for our country.
These achievements are complemented by a silver medal at the 2025 World Championship and two medals at the 2024 European Championship, highlighting her consolidation among the international elite of ski mountaineering.
Meanwhile, Audrey Pascual maintains a close connection with the University of Granada, where she is currently pursuing a Degree in Audiovisual Communication at the Faculty of Communication and Documentation. Her dedication to adaptive alpine skiing directly links her to the Sierra Nevada environment, an essential reference for training and the projection of winter sports in Andalusia.
At the Milan-Cortina d'Ampezzo 2026 Winter Paralympic Games, Audrey Pascual won four medals: two gold, one silver, and one bronze, and served as the flag bearer for the Spanish delegation at the opening ceremony.
