The operation began around 5:15 AM after the Civil Guard's Operational Center in Granada received an urgent alert from the 112 emergency coordination center about a car overturning near Calle Alta in the town, with people trapped inside.
A patrol from the Civil Guard Post in Órgiva immediately responded. The search for the vehicle was complicated by the steep terrain, darkness, and dense vegetation. With the help of a neighbor who heard the impact, officers located the car, which had fallen approximately 20 meters and was suspended between brambles and two young poplar trees.
From the outside, officers heard a woman's voice and a child crying. The woman informed them she was inside with her four-year-old son, and her partner was unconscious. Given the danger, one officer accessed the vehicle, broke a door window, and removed glass fragments to create a safe exit.
With the mother's assistance, the officer first extracted the four-year-old boy, who was then secured by another patrol member. He then returned to help the mother, extracting her from the cabin under difficult conditions.
A 36-year-old man remained unconscious inside. The officer re-entered to check his condition, confirming he was breathing and reacting slightly when called by name. Emergency medical services and firefighters arrived shortly after, using hydraulic tools to free the third occupant due to the vehicle's deformation.
Due to access difficulties for the ambulance, the man had to be carried about 300 meters to the medical vehicle. All three occupants were eventually transported to a medical center in Órgiva.
