The first attempted assault occurred when the individual managed to force the protective bars of a property to access its inner courtyard. Despite his efforts, he had to desist without gaining entry into the residence.
Subsequently, the suspect moved to the common courtyard of several houses in Fondón to attempt entry into another property. On this occasion, the residents themselves surprised him in the act and managed to detain him while alerting the Guardia Civil via the 062 phone number.
Upon the arrival of patrols, officers proceeded to arrest the individual. Subsequent investigations revealed that the detainee has numerous prior convictions for property crimes and is subject to a judicial order prohibiting him from leaving national territory.
The detainee has been handed over to the Court of Instance in Berja. The Command has highlighted citizen cooperation in the capture, while also recommending avoiding direct confrontations and always using official channels to report suspicious activities.
