The Government Board of the provincial institution has approved the tender for the project, which is part of the 2024-2027 Provincial Works and Services Plan. This intervention aims to provide the town with a modern, functional infrastructure adapted to the current needs of local clubs and sports schools.
The project includes the installation of artificial turf over a 53 by 33-meter area, as well as the comprehensive renovation of irrigation, drainage, lighting, and paving systems. The work has been designed with a forward-looking approach, ensuring that the technical elements installed facilitate a potential future expansion to an 11-a-side pitch.
“"This action demonstrates the commitment of the Almeria Provincial Council to improving public services in all municipalities of the province, especially in those projects that have a direct impact on the quality of life of the residents."
This improvement adds to other recent works at the Laujar de Andarax sports complex, which already features paddle tennis and multi-sport courts. Currently, the local council is also working on the renovation of the changing room building, consolidating this space as a key meeting point for sports practice in the region.
