The Governing Board has given the green light for the execution of this project, included in the Provincial Plan for Works and Services 2024-27. The action will take place on a plot located in front of the Town Hall, on Avenida de la Alpujarra, currently used as a car park which will be relocated.
The new building, spread over two floors, will feature a visitor reception area, a coworking space, restrooms (including one adapted for people with reduced mobility), and a municipal storage area with a separate external entrance on the upper floor.
“"The new building in Almócita will have a dual purpose that is especially important for a small municipality: on one hand, it will offer a space to receive visitors to the town, and on the other, it will provide a suitable place for remote work."
The President of the Provincial Council, José Antonio García Alcaina, highlighted the project's importance in making the municipality more attractive for living and developing professional projects, responding to the increase in residents working remotely and the need for meeting points for visitors.
The project includes a reinforced concrete structure and various installations (electricity, air conditioning, telecommunications, plumbing, sanitation, ventilation, and fire protection), as well as pre-installation for telephone and internet connections for the coworking space. The execution period is planned for eleven months.
