The socialist leader described the concentration as an "act of justice," highlighting the importance of this sector which, during peak season, employs over 25,000 people, many of whom endure working weeks exceeding 50 hours.
“"Their concentration is not just a labor demand, but an act of justice."
The mobilization, called by the unions UGT-FICA Almería and CCOO Industria de Almería, will take place this Sunday at 11:00 AM in the Amphitheater of the Rambla in the capital. The objective is to protest against the "blockade" that has stalled the negotiation of the provincial collective agreement since late 2024.
After a year and a half of negotiations and 14 meetings, the business proposal has been deemed "regressive" by both trade union organizations. This conflict affects a key sector for the provincial economy, essential for the commercialization of fruits and vegetables destined for Europe.
Several high-level union representatives are expected to attend, including the general secretary of CCOO Andalucía, the general secretary of CCOO Industria, and the general secretary of UGT FICA of Almería.
