The Delegation of Public Works, Territorial Planning and Housing of the Junta de Andalucía in Almería has formalized the contract award for the new route 13 of the Andalucía Rural Conectada program. This service, set to begin operations on June 1, will establish a direct connection between the Almerian municipality of Alcóntar and the Granadan town of Baza.
The route will operate on Mondays and Wednesdays for the next two years, with a ticket price of 2.64 euros in both directions. NEX Continental Holdings SLU has been awarded this contract, valued at 17,539.20 euros. This service aims to guarantee mobility in rural areas and municipalities with limited access to conventional public transport, facilitating essential travel for health, administrative, or assistance needs.
Users of this program pay only 8% of the total service cost, with the regional administration covering the remaining 92%. Reservations are managed through a centralized information and booking service, available Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 18:00, via telephone at 955 926 766.
This new connection joins the twelve existing routes in the province of Almería, marking the first inter-provincial one. With its implementation, the Andalucía Rural Conectada program extends direct coverage to 23 population centers in the province, ensuring that all municipalities in Almería have some form of public transport connection.
