Authorities are keeping an investigation open following an incident that occurred early Thursday morning on Las Palmerillas beach in Roquetas de Mar (Almería). A group of alleged drug traffickers intercepted a witness while conducting a drop on the coast.
According to investigation sources, the individuals, numbering between ten and fifteen, threatened the witness with firearms to secure the operation. They took his mobile phone and held him in the rear of the old Carabineros barracks until they finished unloading the illicit cargo.
Once the illegal activity concluded, the group fled on foot. Current investigations have identified two of the individuals involved in the unloading, and a police search is ongoing to locate the remaining fugitives and fully clarify the events.
