This vessel, operated by the American shipping company Windstar Cruises, departed from the Netherlands Antilles on April 4. After passing through the Azores Islands, Lisbon, and Cádiz, and making a stop in Gibraltar, the Wind Surf will continue its route through Málaga, Cartagena, Palma de Mallorca, and will conclude its transatlantic voyage in Barcelona next Sunday, April 26.
The Wind Surf is no stranger to the Port of Almería, having visited its docks on multiple occasions since 2014. This sailing ship, which once held the title of the largest in the world, measures 189 meters in length and has a gross tonnage of 14,745 tons. Its 2,600 m² of sails, distributed across five masts, give it an imposing presence.
With a capacity for 342 guests and a crew of 210 people, the Wind Surf offers a luxurious and comfortable experience. Recently renovated, the ship features redesigned common areas, such as a grand lounge, the pool deck, and the Yacht Club Café. Its 150 luxury cabins with sea views and 18 luxury suites, spread over six decks, stand out for their elegance.
The vessel, flying the flag of Bahamas, was built in the Ateliers et Chantiers du Havre shipyards in France and inaugurated in 1990, with a subsequent refurbishment in 1998. Its draft of 5 meters allows it to access more secluded ports, such as Almería, which larger cruise ships cannot reach.
