The city of Almería enthusiastically hosted the 27th edition of its traditional City of Almería Half Marathon, an event that, despite the rain, managed to bring together 5,000 runners. The race, which included the Half Marathon of 21 kilometers and a 10-kilometer Healthy Race, saw the participation of athletes from all over Spain and 16 different nationalities.
In the men's category of the Half Marathon, Zakaria Lahsaini, from the Sayma Níjar club, claimed victory with a time of 1:07:22. He was followed by Alberto Casas, just six seconds behind, and Diego Clemente in third place. In the women's competition, Yesica Castany, from Valencia, dominated the race with a time of 1:18:09, surpassing Paula Viviana and Carolina García.
The 10-kilometer Healthy Race also had its champions. Kit Edward was the fastest in the men's category with a time of 00:33:34, while Águeda Salas won the women's with 00:38:48. The race was started by the Councilor for Active City, Urban Mobility, and Sports, Antonio Casimiro, who highlighted the perfect organization and the positive impact of the event on Almería's business fabric.

The provincial deputy for Sports, Healthy Living, and Youth, María Luisa Cruz, and the territorial delegate for Tourism, Culture, and Sports, Juan José Alonso, were also present, emphasizing the event's importance for promoting sports and de-seasonalizing tourism in Almería. The general coordinator, Javier Berbel, thanked the institutional support and the collaboration of La Legión, highlighting the solidarity component of this edition, dedicated to the Almería Parkinson's Association (APAL).
The event, which started and finished in front of the Palacio de los Juegos Mediterráneos, offered a flat and fast course, ideal for runners from all over Spain looking to improve their personal bests. The sporting day concluded with an awards ceremony, music, and gastronomy, marking the beginning of preparations for the 2027 edition.
