This event, promoted by the Commerce Area of the Almería City Council in collaboration with 'Almería Gastronómica' and 'Sabores Almería' from the Provincial Council, aims to enhance the province's culinary richness and the work of its professionals, from farmers and fishermen to chefs.
The Councilor for Commerce, Ana Trigueros, along with Rafa Rodríguez, president of 'Almería Gastronómica', inaugurated the event. Trigueros highlighted that until August 29th, attendees will enjoy talks, hospitality contests, and showcookings, thanking the organizing entities and La Lonja for their collaboration.
Carlos Sánchez, Deputy for Agri-food Promotion, emphasized the event as a showcase for discovering the talent of Almerian chefs and local products under the 'Sabores Almería' gourmet brand, establishing it as an essential date in the Almería Fair.
Rafa Rodríguez expressed his pleasure in managing this encounter for the fourth consecutive year at the Plaza de las Velas, which saw full attendance from early morning, encouraging participation.
The eight-day event will feature a showcase of Almerian gastronomy with showcookings, talks, tastings, raffles, and culinary contests, prioritizing local and zero-kilometer products.
The first day included participation from chefs David Papis and Héctor García ('Katsu Izakaya'), the sausage brand 'Peña Cruz', and chef Juan Manuel Domínguez (Hotel Playadulce).
This coming Sunday will feature Juan Ramón Sánchez, Las Salinas, and Iria Espinosa (restaurant 'Árbore da Veira', A Coruña), alongside other notable professionals, culinary contests for adults and children, and a day dedicated to Almería's shrimp, among other attractions.
