The Almería Fair, taking place from August 21st to 29th, will feature a monumental entrance standing 27.5 meters tall, the largest in the capital's history, inspired by the iconic Casa de las Mariposas. This new structure, replacing the Central Market design, will be strategically located on the main avenue to maximize its visibility and is designed to look impeccable from all angles.
In addition to the entrance, the City Council has awarded a decoration contract that includes the installation of over 60,000 fairy lights in the city's central arteries, such as the Paseo de Almería and the Market area, to create a broader festive atmosphere.
To revitalize traditional booths, the City Council will fully cover the structural costs, leaving booth decorators responsible only for decoration. This measure aims to alleviate the financial burden and ensure a wide range of meeting spaces.
Regarding the security and functionality of the Fairgrounds, the old perimeter fencing is being replaced with approximately 1,500 meters of Hercules-type metal fencing. Foundation work is also underway to ensure the stability of the new monumental entrance.
Finally, a new fairgrounds ordinance is being developed to regulate its year-round uses, complemented by the installation of a security camera system and integrated lighting management, to ensure a safe and orderly space for all residents of Almería.
