The red-and-white club has confirmed that this will be the final preparation test for the 2026/27 season. The match against Córdoba CF will mark the end of both the training camp and the preseason, as the league championship will officially begin the following week.
This friendly, considered an "important test" by the club, will be held at the Marbella Football Center facilities. After the match, the Almería delegation will return to the city after eight days of concentration.
Currently, Almería is training at the Anexo field of the Estadio de los Juegos Mediterráneos, where coach Xavier García Pimienta is working with a large squad. The latest addition is Quim Junyent, a European champion with the Spanish National Team, and Brian Cipenga will join the group during the weekend of July 25-26.
A total of 32 players are participating in the training sessions: Andrés Fernández, Fernando, Bruno Iribarne, Jesús López, Álex Muñoz, Luna, Chirino, Pozo, Rodrigo Ely, Nelson Monte, Bonini, Chumi, Jorge Pulido, Édgar González, Popovic, André Horta, Gui Guedes, Dzodic, Dion Lopy, Baba, Selvi Clua, Leo Baptistao, Álex Sola, Jon Morcillo, Adrián Embarba, Nico Melamed, Perovic, Sergio Arribas, Miguel de la Fuente, Patrick Soko, Thalys, and Quim Junyent.
Federico Bonini, Chumi, Nico Melamed, and Patrick Soko missed Wednesday's session due to "overload," as reported by the club. The team has a double training session scheduled for Thursday and one for Friday (behind closed doors) before starting their friendly match schedule.
