Officers from the Civil Guard in Almería, along with personnel from the local police forces of Mojácar, Garrucha, Vera, Huércal-Overa, and Albox, have participated in several joint training exercises. The primary objective was to refine intervention procedures for high-complexity situations, focusing on incidents involving individuals exhibiting symptoms consistent with agitated delirium syndrome.
This syndrome is characterized by temporary alterations in consciousness, significant psychomotor agitation, and unpredictable behaviors, which can pose risks to both the affected person and those around them. During the sessions, participants engaged in practical scenarios covering risk assessment, critical incident management, and communication among emergency services.
The training also emphasized coordination between Law Enforcement agencies and emergency health services, such as the 061, adhering to specific protocols designed for a joint, rapid, and safe response. The initiative aims to improve officers' response capabilities in highly sensitive incidents, ensuring effective and proportionate actions.
The Almería Civil Guard Command reaffirms through these practices its commitment to continuous training and collaborative work with local police forces, viewing it as a crucial tool for enhancing public safety and the quality of public service throughout the province.
