Málaga CF midfielder Carlos Dotor has expressed confidence in the team for the crucial second-leg match, emphasizing a winning mentality and the significance of key details.

The Madrid-born player, Carlos Dotor, is in excellent form and just 90 minutes away from achieving promotion to La Liga with Málaga CF. Dotor shared his optimism, stating that "the spirit of '122' is in the locker room." He acknowledges that the winning streak might create a false sense of ease, but stresses that "these are very close football matches where everything can change due to details." The team's confidence, according to the midfielder, stems from their shared experiences and is crucial for facing the final minutes.
Dotor appeared emotional about the second leg of the final, saying: "We are going with great enthusiasm." He highlighted the importance of the recovery week to approach the match "with enthusiasm and calmness." He recalled that the first leg was "tight" because both teams had a lot at stake and had played two matches very recently, which might have led to a "fear of losing." However, he assured that they will go after their opponents with determination, just as they did in Las Palmas.
Regarding reactions to certain games, the player reflected: "We are normalizing things that, at times, are not normal." He cited the draw against Almería as an example, a team "built for promotion" and "very physical," acknowledging the difficulty in harming them. Dotor expressed confidence that Málaga has "the weapons to beat them away," citing the 0-1 victory in Las Palmas as a precedent. "We are not backing down away from home," he stated, adding that although they won't have the same atmosphere, "the pitch is the same, the grass is the same, and the ball is the same."
Regarding his personal situation and future, Dotor indicated that "the situation remains the same" and he prefers to focus on the present. "My friends keep asking me, and I keep putting them off because I have no idea," he confessed. He expressed his satisfaction with the season, which has allowed him to "regain enthusiasm and enjoy football again" in Málaga. Despite his good performance, he feels he has "a lot of room for improvement" and thanked the club and the fans for their support.
Concerning his physical condition, Dotor assured he doesn't feel the strain of the minutes played: "I'm fine. I'm a player whose strength is being everywhere at once and not stopping." He admitted to feeling "a bit less fresh in the legs" at times, but is confident that the recovery week will provide "a lot of leeway" and allow him to "get back to full strength."
Finally, Dotor sent a message to the fans: "We can ask little of the fans. They show every day what they believe in us and how they are dreaming of promotion. It's very beautiful." He assured that the team "will give their all" and will approach the match in Almería "without fear of losing anything."
