The CAF, under the Ministry of Culture and Sport, aims to enrich the province's cultural offerings with two main initiatives. On one hand, Misión Almería, a photographic proposal part of the Misión Andalucía exhibition project, will be presented. On the other, the Sur Danza cycle will begin, bringing contemporary dance to unconventional cultural spaces.
The presentation of Misión Almería is scheduled for Thursday, April 23, at 7 PM. This selection of images, created by members of the Almerian Photographers Association El Cabo en Fotos, offers a collective view of the province's landscape. The initiative is part of Misión Andalucía, which seeks to highlight landscape diversity and local narratives through contemporary photography.
Participating photographers have explored elements defining the Almerian territory, focusing on both its geographical singularities and transformations affecting its perception. The result is a collection of images that build a visual narrative of the province's contemporary landscape, presented in audiovisual format at the CAF's AFAL Room.
Concurrently, the center will host the launch of Sur Danza, a program coordinated by the Andalusian Institute of Performing Arts and Music. The first event will take place on Sunday, April 26, at 12 PM, featuring a double program including Danzas Blancas by Helena Martos, and Pies de gallina by Ana F. Melero and Luna Sánchez. Both pieces have been adapted for museum settings, fostering direct audience interaction.
The cycle will continue on May 24, also at 12 PM, with the presentation of Maja y Bastarda by Laila Tafur, followed by Somos oro by the company La Imbución. These proposals delve into contemporary languages exploring identity, the body, and its interaction with the environment. All activities at the CAF will have free admission until full capacity is reached, promoting accessibility and participation.
