The Civil Guard of Almería has arrested an individual in Huércal-Overa, known for his criminal history, as the alleged perpetrator of a violent robbery at a tobacconist and a forced entry at a pub.

The Civil Guard of the Almería Command has arrested a man in Huércal-Overa, accused of committing a violent robbery and a forced entry at establishments in the town. This action is part of ongoing operations to prevent and prosecute property crimes.
The incidents began on March 26, 2026, when a tobacconist employee reported being the victim of a violent robbery. According to his statement, upon opening the premises in the afternoon, an individual entered and, brandishing a firearm, demanded money from the cash register under threat of shooting.
Following the report, officers, with the collaboration of the Local Police of Huércal-Overa, immediately began investigations. They quickly identified the alleged perpetrator, who was already known for his involvement in similar criminal acts. It was noted that the suspect changed clothes after the assault to avoid identification.
The next day, a new report linked the same individual to a forced entry robbery at a local pub. During the early hours, the assailant forced open the access gate and stole various items, including the proceeds from a slot machine.
The Civil Guard launched a search and location operation, culminating in the suspect's arrest on March 31 in the streets of Huércal-Overa. Subsequently, he was brought before the court, which ordered his provisional imprisonment.
