The sporting event, which started from Plaza de la Catedral, allowed participants to pass through iconic landmarks such as the Alcazaba and Nicolas Salmeron Park. The race, certified by the Andalusian Athletics Federation, featured two types of participants: those who competed at high speed and those who chose a slower pace to enjoy the monumental surroundings.
The funds raised during this sporting event will be donated entirely to purchase equipment for the library and playroom of the pediatric oncology unit at Torrecárdenas University Hospital. This hospital facility cares for children requiring long stays, and the equipment aims to improve their well-being during treatment.
“"We want to build an active city, and this event perfectly combines sports, culture, and solidarity. More than 800 people from Almeria have put on their sneakers and enjoyed an unforgettable night."
During the event, the organization recognized the work of various local entities that have supported the initiative over the last decade, including the Municipal Sports Board. The race concluded at the Cathedral, establishing itself as a key date in the province's sporting and social calendar.
