The Almería Book Fair hosted the presentation of the re-edition of Almerian Recipe Guide for Children, a work by Antonio Zapata that invites youngsters to explore the traditional gastronomy of the province.
The event, which took place at Espacio Sabores Almería last Wednesday, April 16, 2026, is part of the program for the 46th Almería Book Fair. This initiative, organized in collaboration with the Institute of Almerian Studies, offered attendees the opportunity to learn about the publication and participate in a culinary demonstration.
The guide proposes a didactic and accessible journey through the typical dishes of the province, adapting traditional recipes for a child audience. During the presentation, the Deputy of Presidency and Provincial Promotion, Carlos Sánchez, and the author, Antonio Zapata, welcomed the young chefs who participated in the activity, who received a free copy of the book.

"This publication is an updated re-edition of a book that was already part of Sabores Almería, created together with its author, Antonio Zapata. The work offers a tour of the province through its typical dishes, using a practical, illustrated guide aimed at children, with characters that accompany this gastronomic itinerary."
The re-edition has a print run of 800 copies and its presentation was scheduled to coincide with the Book Fair. Antonio Zapata highlighted that the collection of recipes represents various corners of the province, including preparations linked to different municipalities and regions.

The author also noted that the content includes well-known recipes, adapted and explained in a simple way to facilitate understanding for those who have not cooked before, incorporating varied proposals such as an “Almerian pizza”. This activity seeks to combine gastronomy and literature, bringing traditional recipes to new generations.
