The red-and-white squad, set to compete in the bronze category of Spanish football next season, experienced an emotional day in the capital of Almería. The celebration took place after the opposing team, SD Nueva Montaña, failed to appear for the scheduled match.
The event commenced with a guard of honor for the players, presented by the coordinator of the UDA Foundation. Subsequently, the coaching staff and team captains joined the field, carrying the league title.
“"We have that bittersweet feeling for not playing the match, but we are very happy to achieve promotion to Segunda Federación. We wanted to say goodbye to our people after a very beautiful year. It was the icing on the cake, but it wasn't possible."
During the celebration, chants and the Almería anthem were sung, along with other popular songs. The team captain expressed pride in the promotion, though she regretted not being able to play the final match in front of their fans. She highlighted that the season had been a “very beautiful challenge” and a “memorable year”.
“"How it happened is the least important thing because this is a year-long effort. From the beginning, we knew the goal was promotion, and it has been achieved, which is what we all wanted. I am very happy for the players."
The team coach also shared his satisfaction with the achievement, emphasizing that the promotion is the result of a collective effort throughout the season. He underscored the team's consistency, having suffered only one defeat, and anticipated that the next campaign will present greater challenges.
