The UD Almería locker room boasts figures with significant careers in football. One such veteran goalkeeper, aged 39 with numerous appearances in both First and Second Division, has spoken out during a period of high tension in the National League Championship.
Following the recent match at El Plantío against Burgos, the goalkeeper was emphatic in front of Movistar Plus+ Deportes cameras. His statements come as referee decisions and VAR have been subjects of intense debate, especially with only three matchdays remaining in the silver category season.
“"The truth is, I'm a bit fed up and sick of always looking at the referee in every game. They do their job, and we have to win on the field. All teams need to stop protesting. I say this for all clubs. We need to dedicate ourselves to football and nothing else."
The red-and-white goalkeeper also shared the team's feelings after the goalless draw at El Plantío. He acknowledged that the group was disappointed not to have secured a victory but highlighted the effort and competitiveness shown on the field. He emphasized the importance of this point for the final three matches of the season.
Despite the challenges and the team not being in control of its own promotion fate, the goalkeeper remained optimistic. He confidently stated that the goal is to win the remaining three games and create a positive atmosphere for the next home match, with the support of the fans.
