The Almería City Council has alerted citizens about considerable traffic interruptions scheduled for the upcoming weekend and early next week. These disruptions will add to those already caused by ongoing construction work on Avenida del Mediterráneo and Carretera de Sierra Alhamilla.
Traffic restrictions will commence on Saturday, June 27, for the International LGTBI Pride Day March and Parade. Although the parade officially starts at 7:30 PM from Obispo Orberá, passing through Avenida Federico García Lorca, Plaza Circular, Reina Regente, and the N-340 towards Parque de las Almadrabillas, road closures will begin earlier at 5:30 PM to allow for float assembly on Obispo Orberá street.
Sunday, June 28, will be the most impacted day, with events scheduled for the afternoon and evening. Between 7:00 PM and 8:30 PM, the LGTBIQ Demonstration will take place, starting from Plaza de las Velas and proceeding up Avenida Federico García Lorca to the Anfiteatro de la Rambla. The Local Police will manage rolling road closures as the march progresses.
Following this, between 8:30 PM and 10:30 PM, a religious procession for the 500 Viviendas Neighborhood Festival will occur. This religious parade will depart from Plaza Padre Serafín and follow an extensive route including key points like Avenida de Madrid, Calle de las Alpujarras, and Avenida del Mediterráneo, before returning to the church.
Finally, on Monday, June 29, urban mobility will be affected by the FFC Demonstration. From 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, the march will proceed from Plaza 3 de abril through Hermanos Pinzón, Gregorio Marañón, Obispo Orberá, and Las Tiendas streets, concluding at Plaza Vieja. The Local Police will coordinate intermittent and progressive closures.
