The province of Almería has surpassed one million tourists in the first half of 2026, showing a 1.9% growth compared to the previous year and a 9.4% increase in spending.

The tourism sector in Almería has experienced a spring boost, enabling it to exceed one million visitors in the first six months of 2026. According to data from the Survey of Tourist Conditions in Andalusia (ECTA), the province welcomed a total of 1,021,363 tourists, representing a 1.9% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
The second quarter of the year, from April to June, has been the main driver of this recovery, with 726,155 tourists, a 2.8% increase from the same quarter the previous year. This advance helps offset the stagnation recorded in the early months of the year, when 295,208 visitors were counted between January and March, showing a slight variation of -0.1%.
Despite these positive figures, Almería accounts for 6.7% of the total tourists in Andalusia during the second quarter, ranking ahead of Córdoba (6.2%) and Jaén (3.6%), but far behind provinces like Málaga (28.4%), Cádiz (17.5%), and Seville (16.7%). Collectively, the Andalusian provinces surpassed 10.8 million visitors in this period.
Notably, Almería leads in average tourist stay duration, reaching 6.3 days, one day more than in the second quarter of 2025. The average spending per tourist has increased by a considerable 9.4%, standing at 72.8 euros, the highest increase in the autonomous community during this period.
57.2% of travelers stayed in hotel establishments, while 36.4% opted for apartments, flats, or chalets. The average tourist rating stood at 8.6, although slightly below the Andalusian average.
