The province of Almería is bracing for a period of meteorological instability with the imminent arrival of a DANA, expected to bring rain between Friday and Saturday. However, prior to the rainfall, Aemet has activated wind warnings for the Poniente region and Almería capital, as well as for coastal phenomena in the Almerian Levante. It is the only Andalusian territory with active meteorological warnings today.
Wednesday was marked by high temperatures, more typical of summer than spring. In fact, the municipality of Albox recorded one of the highest maximums in Andalusia, reaching 29.3 degrees. For Thursday, similar values are expected in towns such as Gádor, Viator, or El Ejido, while the rest of the province will range between 22 and 25 degrees.
The yellow wind warning will be in effect in Poniente and Almería capital from 2:00 PM on Thursday until the end of the day, with maximum gusts that could reach 70 kilometers per hour, coming from the northwest. Simultaneously, a warning for coastal phenomena has been activated in the Almerian Levante, starting at 12:00 PM on April 23 and extending until 6:00 AM on Friday 24. Northeast winds with intervals of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour are expected, along with waves that could reach 3 meters in height. For Saturday, no further active meteorological warnings are expected in the province.
Regarding precipitation, moderate rainfall is expected in the province starting Friday, which could be accompanied by thunderstorms. The highest probability of rain will be concentrated in the mid-morning, reaching 100% in the western half of the province, while in the other half, probabilities will be slightly lower, between 85% and 90%. For Saturday, the probabilities of rain will gradually decrease, remaining at 90% in the early hours in Adra and Berja, and then dropping until disappearing completely by Sunday.
