This project, which originated from the Almerian destination's participation in the World Travel Market international fair, aims to integrate the province into an itinerary that highlights its natural and cinematic settings.
The 'Spaghetti Western Trail' is an approximately 800-kilometer route that traverses lesser-known Spain, from the province of Burgos to the Tabernas Desert. The initiative proposes adapted routes for trail motorcycles, bicycles, or hiking, connecting locations where films by filmmaker Sergio Leone were shot, as well as other related points of interest.
“"The project proposes routes adapted for trail motorcycles, bicycles, or hiking, and offers visitors off-road itineraries, interconnecting locations where various films by the Roman filmmaker Sergio Leone were shot, as well as other related places."
The proposal includes a comprehensive guide with information, stories, and curiosities about the films and locations, available in downloadable format and as a paper map. The project's promoters, a British traveler and a journalist and travel writer, have explored various enclaves of the province during the low season to document its landscapes and settings.
The promoters' visit allowed for an exchange of impressions on the initiative's development and an analysis of its approach. Furthermore, the travel writer will introduce the Costa de Almería destination to British readers through an article in The Guardian.
