Of the total number, over 80,700 students will pursue their studies in the public system and around 4,400 in the state-subsidized (concertada) system. The academic year is completed with the enrollment of 7,528 students in special regime programs for Languages and higher artistic studies starting September 21st.
In total, Almería has 182,317 non-university education students starting the course this month, including those in Early Childhood, Primary, and Special Education who began on the 10th, and children under 3 who started on the 3rd.
Almería's high schools, similar to previous stages, show a decrease in student numbers compared to the previous year, attributed to the sustained decline in birth rates. In the 2026/27 academic year, there is a drop of over 700 students, particularly in Baccalaureate, although more students are expected to enroll in the coming weeks.
Thanks to the framework agreement with the unions CSIF, ANPE, and UGT, 600 reinforcement teachers are maintained, counting students with special educational needs twice in classrooms with higher ratios. The public teaching staff for Secondary education in Almería now stands at 5,699 professors.
Vocational Training is consolidating as a strategic priority, reaching 25,061 students, with 6,245 new enrollments this course. 89% of these students are enrolled in public centers (22,350).
The Regional Ministry has offered over 39,000 new places in the province of Almería, with a special reinforcement in distance learning options, totaling 28,745 places across Andalusia.
