The Almería Half Marathon, in its 27th edition, has showcased the deep-rooted sporting culture in the province with massive participation. Junior categories, from 'chupetines' (toddlers) to Under-14, competed in distances of 80, 250, and 800 meters around the Palacio Mediterráneo, the city's main sports hub.
The event has achieved resounding success in bib sales, selling out all 5,000 available: 3,000 for the Half Marathon, 1,500 for the Healthy Race, and 500 for the Children's Race. This milestone not only reflects sporting enthusiasm but also translates into a significant economic boost for Almería, estimated at over 2 million euros.
Bib collection for the main races will take place this Sunday at 7:00 AM at the Palacio. The start for the 21-kilometer race is scheduled for 8:30 AM, while the 10-kilometer race will begin at 9:00 AM. The Sports Councilor, Antonio Jesús Casimiro, who already attended the children's races, will also be present at the adult competitions.
The organization, led by Nexal 2020 and its collaborators, has prepared all the details for the big day, including a post-race lunch. The children's day was particularly moving, with girls standing out and receiving applause from the stands, demonstrating the vibrant atmosphere at the Almería Half Marathon 2026.
