With six matchdays remaining in the championship, prediction models based on Artificial Intelligence are sparking debate among fans. According to ELO technology, UD Almería's direct promotion chances would increase to 53%, with the team projected to secure 11 of the remaining 18 points.
This projection places the Almerian team ahead of most of its direct rivals, with the exception of Racing de Santander, who is emerging as the main candidate for promotion. The models also suggest that teams like Burgos and Eibar would miss out on the Play Off spots.
“"The main candidate for promotion according to ELO technology is Racing de Santander, who will finish as Second Division champions with 81 points, meaning they would only fall from the silver throne in 4% of cases."
UD Almería, according to these predictions, would finish the season with 75 points, which would imply some setbacks along the way. To achieve this, the team would need to secure home victories against Mirandés, Las Palmas, and Real Valladolid, in addition to gaining points in their away matches in Granada, Burgos, and Gijón. The AI anticipates that both Racing and Almería would be directly promoted to the First Division.
Regarding the Play Off spots, RC Deportivo is projected to finish with 74 points, one less than Almería, with a 32% chance of promotion. Castellón, for its part, would finish fourth with 72 points, while UD Las Palmas and Málaga would close out the promotion playoff positions with 70 and 68 points respectively.
