The event, which gathered numerous devotees, culminated with the simpecado positioned before the Giralda, a moment described by attendees as a “dream come true.” The main celebration was a pontifical mass presided over by the Archbishop of Seville.
From early morning, the Plaza del Salvador was filled with people awaiting the opening of the Colegial doors to witness the simpecado's departure. The procession was accompanied by drummers and a large crowd singing salves and sevillanas.
“"It is a privilege to have this medal because we are also from Seville, and the Virgen de los Reyes means everything to us."
During the journey, a covered wooden box containing an image of the Blessed Virgin from 1650 was carried by a brother. This relic, bearing the inscription “Soi de la hermandad de Nuestra Señora del Rocío de Pilas. Se hizo año de 1650,” was unveiled upon entering the Cathedral and was present during the ceremony.
Inside the Cathedral, the brotherhood made an offering to the Virgen de los Reyes, patroness of Seville, and the association of faithful presented a gold medal that was placed beneath the painting of the Virgen del Rocío. The mass, with over 1,600 chairs occupied, featured rociera music performed by the Pilas band and choir.
The return of the simpecado, after the mass, was marked by emotion, with the ringing of the Giralda bells and hymns to the Virgen del Rocío. The procession made a final stop at the Seville City Council, where it was received by the municipal corporation, presided over by the mayor. This event marks a memorable anniversary for the brotherhood.
