The Hermandad de Santiago de Aznalcázar has inaugurated an exhibition titled Angustias Porta Coeli: Centuries of History, Art, and Devotion at the Círculo Mercantil e Industrial de Sevilla, located on Sierpes Street. The exhibition, which commemorates the 450th anniversary of the brotherhood's founding, will be open until June 21st during morning and afternoon hours.
The exhibition offers a journey through the corporation's history from the 16th century to the present day, showcasing its historical, artistic, and devotional heritage. Highlights include the commemoration of the centenary of the blue mantle of the Virgen de las Angustias, a work by Juan Manuel Rodríguez Ojeda, and a dedicated space for the Extraordinary Year “Angustias Porta Coeli”. Visitors can view the two processional floats of the image, one for penance and one for glory.
This exhibition provides an opportunity to discover the rich heritage, history, and spirituality of this corporation from the Aljarafe region of Seville. As part of the events, on Saturday, June 20th, Andrés Luque Teruel will give a lecture on the Juanmanuelino mantle at 8:00 PM.
