The event, organized by the Veleta de Orientación Club and the Héroes hasta la Médula association, with collaboration from the Atarfe City Council and the Andalusian Orienteering Federation, gathered over 2,000 attendees and 1,200 runners. The amount raised brings the total donated since 2018 to 118,205 euros to the research group led by Dr. Pablo Menéndez of the Josep Carreras Leukemia Research Institute.
What began as a race in 2018 has transformed into a large family event featuring live music, entertainment, paella, and numerous children's activities. Organizers emphasized that it has become a continuous project, renewed and improved every two years, with ongoing fundraising efforts.
Thanks to a biennial subsidy for its operations, the association covered all event expenses, allowing the entire amount raised to be fully dedicated to the cause. Over 100 sponsoring companies and entities provided financial support and prize lots.
Organizers highlighted the crucial role of the more than 200 volunteers who participated altruistically in all phases of the project, making the initiative a success. The organization also thanked the registered participants, Dorsal Cero collaborators, and attendees.
