Organized by the Culture Department of the Monachil City Council and the Río Monachil Library, this initiative has focused on local history and has achieved significant participation from residents. The cycle began with an exhibition of children's books on the Andalusian Legacy and continued with the performance of the play Historias de la luna at the Auditorium, aimed at young children.
Adults also had their space with the Habitas Baby gathering in the study room, while families enjoyed the storytelling session Ñam, ñam, Un cuento para comérselo. The councilor for Culture and Education of the Monachil City Council, has expressed satisfaction with the reception of the activities already held.

Although the cultural week has passed its halfway point, there are still outstanding events. This Thursday, the Plaza Alta in the old town will become the epicenter of the celebration with storytelling and a literary scavenger hunt for children, followed by a snack distribution. On Friday, the activity will move to Plaza Pepe Sevilla with Book Day workshops and the announcement of the winners of the reading contest about Monachil and the Andalusian Legacy on social media.
To conclude this intense cultural week, on Wednesday, April 29, the courtyard of the Casa de la Cultura will host an exhibition of painting, image, and music by students from the painting workshop. The mayor of Monachil has highlighted the importance of these initiatives in fostering reading habits and has encouraged all residents to enjoy the remaining activities during this festive week.
