The construction focuses on the intersection with Avenida Luis Javier Rodríguez Salas to alleviate traffic jams that occur during peak hours when merging onto the GR-3103. A new central waiting lane will be created to speed up entry onto the road and reduce risky maneuvers.
The intervention, with a budget of over 309,000 euros, is taking place on the section of the road connecting Granada with Alfacar, an area with high traffic intensity. The project aims to address a community demand for improved safety at the access points.
The main change will be the construction of a central storage and waiting lane for vehicles coming from Avenida Luis Javier Rodríguez Salas, allowing them to wait before merging onto the GR-3103 without significantly disrupting general circulation. Speed will be limited, and left turns onto this avenue will be prohibited.
In addition to the intersection, the works include the installation of new drains and a collector to improve water evacuation. A new road surface layer will be applied where the current pavement is deteriorated, while maintaining the existing layout and widening only where necessary.
