The heavy downpour, which occurred on Saturday afternoon, primarily affected the capital of Granada. The Local Police there responded to approximately 30 incidents, none of which were severe. Authorities confirmed that the city's tunnels remained clear and operated normally.
The Emergency Coordination Center (Cecem 112) reported that, since 5:00 PM, more than 20 calls were received concerning street and premises flooding. In addition to Granada capital, 112 also received alerts from metropolitan towns such as Las Gabias, Alhendín, Ogíjares, Otura, and Cájar.
The storm delivered significant rainfall, with between 15 and 30 liters per square meter falling in just over half an hour across most meteorological stations in the region. Alhendín was among the most affected metropolitan areas, recording 29 millimeters of rain, followed by Gójar, Ogíjares, and Otura with around 25 millimeters. In Las Gabias, rainfall ranged from 16 to 20 millimeters, while in the capital, the Albaicín district received 22 millimeters and Arabial, 18.
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued a yellow alert for rain and storms in the Genil Basin, forecasting accumulations of up to 15 liters per square meter in one hour. The weather forecast for the coming hours indicates a continued possibility of showers, which could be locally strong and stormy well into Sunday.
