The managers of wholesale establishments in the metropolitan area of Granada, specifically in Ogíjares and Armilla, are under investigation for the sale of counterfeit products. The merchandise included textiles, accessories, jewelry, and mobile phone cases, with an estimated value exceeding 900,000 euros.
The initial actions took place on the morning of February 16, when agents from the Fiscal and Border Patrol (Pafif) of Calahonda, supported by the Citizen Security Unit and patrols from the Civil Guard Company of Armilla, conducted a control operation in warehouses and shops in the municipality of Ogíjares. During this operation, irregularities were detected in three of the inspected establishments.
In these premises, numerous textile garments, handbags, wallets, backpacks, and high-end jewelry items were found, which turned out to be counterfeits of registered models. In total, 7,092 products that violated regulations were seized, with an approximate value of over 900,000 euros.
Subsequently, on March 4, a new inspection was carried out in another wholesale business in the town of Armilla. There, agents located 1,313 mobile phone cases from a well-known technology brand. These products lacked the required documentation and authorization for sale, and their counterfeiting was confirmed after review.
As a result of these actions, Pafif agents initiated the corresponding proceedings and brought the managers of the four establishments before the courts for an alleged crime against industrial property.
