The incident began when the woman alerted authorities that her ex-partner had contacted one of their daughters, stating his intention to come to the family home to take their four minor children. In response, the Civil Guard established a preventive surveillance operation near the residence.
Shortly after midnight, the victim reported that the man was already at the door of the house. A Civil Guard patrol from Santa Fe immediately arrived at the scene, finding the individual banging on the door and carrying a knife.
Upon noticing the officers' presence, the man lunged at them with the weapon, attempting to stab one of the civil guards. The officer managed to repel the assault but sustained cuts to his left hand and various contusions during the struggle. Additionally, the detainee caused damage to the official Civil Guard vehicle, breaking several windows with the knife.
The situation escalated with the arrival of a second support patrol. The aggressor continued his violent behavior towards the officers, ignoring repeated warnings. Given the evident risk to the physical integrity of the civil guards, as well as to the woman and minors inside the home, one of the officers fired a shot at the aggressor's leg.
The man was injured, subdued, and arrested on site. The civil guards themselves provided initial medical assistance until the arrival of medical services, who subsequently transferred him to the Traumatology Hospital of Granada. The Civil Guard's intervention was crucial in preventing the aggressor from entering the home and protecting both the victim and the minors.
The detainee will be brought before judicial authorities as the alleged perpetrator of several crimes, including assault on an agent of authority, injuries, damages, and other potential offenses related to gender-based violence.
